Symphony

Symphony is a SAAS-based product providing team collaboration via secure communications for Banking institutions in Capital Markets. It is an offering allowing 1:1 & group chats, video conferencing as well as bot extensibility for running API-driven workflows onto the chats workspace.

By leveraging customer feedback, v1 usage data and competitive analysis redesign a modern, intuitive and streamlined v2 mobile and desktop frontend experience onto a new data platform and cloud infrastructure to support secure real time communication needs in Capital Markets.

1.0 to 2.0 Client
In my role, I supported new features and development for the Symphony V1 Client while relaunching a new 2.0 experience.


To set the vision for 2.0, I drafted these guiding principles which led our process.

Problem
Symphony is a SAAS-based product providing team collaboration via secure communications for Banking institutions in Capital Markets. It is an offering allowing 1:1 & group chats, video conferencing as well as bot extensibility for running API workflows onto the chats workspace.

One of the core problems that Symphony solved for was addressing bank’s needs around digital transformation in their communications. Traders for instance were using a variety of methods from email, to chat platforms like AOL messenger and even fax for finalizing trades. This was not only not secure but failed to address compliance needs that the FTC and banking institutions must have by law. Symphony solved for this need by keeping all communications secure and in one place with compliance capabilities to ensure conversations kept within legal bounds.
